Karate classes in the heart of Montreal

Who We Are

Karate is an ancient martial art rooted in the traditions of East Asia, carried forward through many lineages and generations. At Ki Shin Karate, a nonprofit karate dojo in the heart of Montreal, we practice the Shinkyokushin lineage developed by Mas Oyama in Japan, a tradition known for its heart, sincerity, and fighting spirit.

For serious practitioners, karate is more than physical training. It is a lifelong practice that develops the spirit as much as the body. It is combat and meditation, discipline and self-discovery. In this tradition, the black belt is not the destination—it is only the beginning.
Ki Shin Karate is a dojo dedicated to respect, self-discovery, and rigorous training. Ki Shin means “the spirit of rising up” in Japanese – that we may each rise up inside ourselves, and with each other in community.

Come join us for a class and see what we do. It will be our pleasure to welcome you. You don’t need experience or even need to be in shape. You can be clumsy or athletic, shy or exuberant, young or old (or anything in between).

Just walk in, and we will take care of the rest.
